Qualifications:  Education: Four year degree or equivalent, with emphasis on business administration, industrial management or related fields.
 Experience: Five (5) years production and inventory control.
 Demonstrated Skills & Abilities: APICS certification, desired. Must have a fundamental knowledge of production control procedures and materials management disciplines associated with inventory management.

Duties: Plans, organizes, and directs the Production / Inventory Control function in accordance with established management policies and objectives. Executes Production / Inventory Control responsibilities through staff. Advises and makes recommendations to the Director of Materials on matters relating to Production / Inventory Control.
Responsible for creation and maintenance of the Master Production Schedule (MPS) through close cooperation with Operations Management and Sales. Integral part of the Sales & Operations Planning process. This includes managing press forecast demands at appropriate time fences, booked order demands and associated forecast demand consumption, as well as service forecast demands for the Aftermarket Value Stream.
Responsible for coordinating and planning assigned product groups using MRP output or kanban replenishment techniques as driven by the MPS. This responsibility includes the detailed scheduling of raw material and component parts through the manufacturing process in a manner consistent with meeting the agreed upon Master Schedule and established inventory objectives.
Responsible for utilizing MRP (Materials Requirements Planning) to establish manufacturing control activities which direct the manufacturing operation for the assigned product groups as related to the Master Production Schedule.
Responsible for measuring the weekly activity of product groups with regard to market demand, material availability, and manufacturing attainment to adjust the Master Production Schedule as required.
Responsible for the coordinating of all internal manufacturing operations through the use of Work Center or Work Cell Schedules. Responsible for working with Purchasing and Operations to outsource production work to relieve capacity constraints and maintain adherence to the production schedule.
Responsible for manufactured inventory and required to meet objectives with regard to inventory turns and customer service level.
Responsible for creation and maintenance of Bread & Butter List of commonly used service parts.
Responsible for the introduction of new products into the manufacturing process in a timely manner while controlling the removal or change of existing products in a manner which minimizes exposure to obsolescence of raw material and component parts.
Maintains cooperation with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting, Marketing, and Materials Management personnel without direct line authority to achieve company wide objectives.
Responsible for planning production schedules for efficient work-cell utilization. Advises Operations Management with regard to capacity limitations and recommends new acquisitions or machine/routing modifications associated with producing the assigned product groups.
Responsible for training staff on effective use of company Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

Assists Director of Materials and Finance with effectively managing Excess and Obsolete Inventory and the associated inventory reserve account balance. Makes recommendations to Materials Management and Finance regarding the disposition of inventory classified as excess. Makes recommendations for process improvements that will prevent excess and obsolete inventory from occurring.
Responsible for coordinating daily activities with upstream suppliers, such as Engineering and Contract Administration, to ensure accurate and timely inputs into the demand stream.
Responsible for coordinating improvement activities utilizing tools including but not limited to Total Cycle Time Management, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma.
