Salary: Negotiable Qualifications: Bachelors Degree or equivalent years of experience.
Minimum of 5-10 years experience as a Buyer or Purchasing Agent in a manufacturing environment. Previous experience with plastic materials a plus.
Ability to multi-task in fast paced work environment.
Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to be a team player.
Experience with MRP Systems Duties: Responsible for the purchasing of all raw materials and packaging.
Monitor inventory levels and raw material turns. Work with production scheduler to purchase materials based on production requirements and requested dates.
Negotiate resin prices (all raw materials) and watch resin market for pricing trends.
Evaluate and select best sources for purchasing resins, components, and packaging.
Work with sales staff, marketing, and engineering departments on new samples and new sources.
Work with suppliers to reduce costs; substitute products. Negotiate freight and payment terms.
Responsible for Material Safety Data Sheets and certifications from vendors.
Enter purchase orders into computer system. Approve invoices for payment. Settle any invoice discrepancies with vendors. Maintain updated pricing in computer.
Select, monitor and schedule outside assemblers.
Track vendor rating system for level of performance.
